Human Resources — Tabor Robak

Human Resources

Solo show — Tabor Robak

Human Resources is a large-scale generative portrait project that examines the systems through which identity, labor, and power are organized in the contemporary world. Conceived within the fictional corporate universe of Tabcorp, a sprawling transnational conglomerate invented by the artist, the work takes the form of 10,000 profile pictures (PFPs), the visual format that has come to define self-representation across social media, gaming, and blockchain cultures.

Each portrait depicts a variation of the same standardized figure, categorized according to a hierarchy of corporate, political, service, and conspiratorial roles. From CEOs and lobbyists to gig workers, call center agents, and "bot farm overseers," the project maps a social landscape in which work, media, governance, and influence operate through shared systems of classification and control. The repetition of a single archetype foregrounds the mechanisms through which power reproduces itself and identities are reduced to administrative categories.

Produced through a custom-built automated image-generation infrastructure, Human Resources mirrors the bureaucratic logic it critiques. Blending satire with social commentary, the work offers a portrait of contemporary society in which human beings increasingly appear as assets to be managed, quantified, and circulated within vast organizational networks.
